The purple-clay tea set have a very compact and hard base and is in the color of natural mud. The firing temperature of purple-clay is around 1100 to 1200 degrees. It does not absorb water or moisture in the air. Knocking on the clay will generate a husky and long-drawn-out sound. It can endure both low and high temperatures and can ensure the purity of the tea's flavor without bringing in a weird cooked flavor. As the material conducts heat very slowly, it is unlikely to scald your hands while boiling tea and it won't crack either. Because of this, it is said that in history there was a time when a teapot that weighs very little would worth a fortune and even more expensive than gold. However there is one imperfection in deed, that is as the color is restricted by the material it is not very easy to appreciate the movement of tea leaves or the color of the tea.
